WHY THE PRICE IS JUSTIFIED
Independent testing—not the brand's extravagant '200 years' marketing—is the reason to buy it: Consumer Reports measured excellent release and heat evenness and very good abrasion durability. The thick aluminum body and full steel induction base are tangible upgrades over cheap stamped pans.
MATERIALS
Provides fast, all-over heat with useful thermal mass.
Very slick and independently demonstrated strong abrasion resistance.
Adds induction compatibility, heat retention, and resistance to rocking or warping.
Secure attachment and a comfortable, cool, non-slip hold.
CRITERIA
IDEAL FOR
- ·Induction cooktops
- ·Low-fat eggs and fish
- ·Dishwasher convenience
- ·Users worried about scratching
NOT FOR
- ·Broiler or very-high-heat searing
- ·Buyers seeking PFAS-free cookware
DESIGN & ERGONOMICS
A coherent graphite finish, grippy stay-cool handle, and reassuringly flat induction base. It is less nimble than bare aluminum, but the weight is well controlled and the exterior is easy to wipe clean.
LONGEVITY
Among the stronger tested PTFE surfaces, but still nonrenewable. A realistic target is 3–5 careful years; the pan and handle are not economically recoatable or repairable.
