Although no longer the raw-performance bargain it once was, the Niche earns its price through commercial-derived Mazzer burrs, a high-torque low-speed drive and an exceptionally clean straight-through workflow that needs neither bellows nor mods. Long owner history and easy cleaning matter more here than novelty.
Commercial-derived geometry is durable and produces full-bodied, forgiving espresso.
Adds rigidity and mass without making the appliance café-sized.
Warm, durable touch points improve grip and domestic visual appeal.
Still one of the best-designed grinders to live with: compact, quiet, legible stepless ring, magnetic cup and warm oak details. It looks domestic rather than industrial. The cup and some secondary parts are less luxurious than the exterior suggests.
Mature design with many five-plus-year daily-use examples, easy chamber cleaning and long-lived Mazzer burrs. Direct-from-UK parts logistics are the principal caveat.
