upgradeFull 18/10 stainless body resists corrosion for decades; integrated pliers lift stuck lids without a second tool. Polished handles turn slick when wet, the one ergonomic tradeoff.

WHY THE PRICE IS JUSTIFIED
The high price is materially legible: virtually the entire object is 18/10 stainless steel, the cutting mechanism is sealed away from food, and the side-cut lid can be replaced temporarily. It is the only premium inclusion; unlike design-label gadgets, the extra money buys metal, corrosion resistance, and refined mechanism engineering.
MATERIALS
High corrosion resistance, rigidity, hygiene, and no load-bearing plastic housing.
CRITERIA
IDEAL FOR
- ·Design-conscious kitchens
- ·Long-term corrosion resistance
- ·Smooth-edge safety
- ·Buyers avoiding plastic
NOT FOR
- ·Wet or weak hands needing rubber grips
- ·Budget shoppers
- ·Commercial-volume opening
DESIGN & ERGONOMICS
Minimal German industrial form, a smooth thumb screw, hanging loop, and pliers for sticky lids. Beautiful and compact, but ATK found the solid-metal handles slippery—an important ergonomic deduction.
LONGEVITY
Excellent material outlook and likely decade-scale home service if kept clean and dry; sealed mechanism is not intended for owner disassembly or part replacement.
