Reviewer’s original Sinclair was still going after nearly five years.

9/10

Reliable Carry

YKK zipper, Cordura, divided slots and plush lining secure a mixed load.

8/10

Wear and Care

Rugged shell and plush protect finishes; long-term Model R wear is less documented.

IDEAL FOR

·Fountain-pen rotation and notebook carry
·Commute and travel
·Custom color/pattern buyers

NOT FOR

·Minimalists wanting the smallest case
·Scratch-sensitive items in outer pocket
·Full-length new wood pencils; prioritize capped pens that fit the slots

DESIGN & ERGONOMICS

Plush three-slot layout protects pens; external pocket supports stand-alone carry. Tradeoffs: larger/thicker than original and outer pocket is unlined.

LONGEVITY

Cordura, reinforced trim and YKK hardware support long use. Independent evidence supports the original’s nearly five-year durability; Model R-specific multi-year wear and parts support remain unknown.
